Birla Balika Vidyapeeth has a state of the art Audio Visual Department providing the latest AV teaching aids and media facilities to the students. The necessity of an Audio Visual department in a school is of utmost importance and two well-equipped modern audiovisual rooms ensure that the students have exposure and access to latest AV aids in teaching.
The school has an excellent audiovisual department comprising of two audiovisual room, most modern audiovisual equipments – different projectors including LCD projector, sound systems, a well equipped media library, props & lights etc.
The newly added air-conditioned audiovisual room in the school is well planned and designed with proper layout, displays and multi-speakers with good acoustics. It has a seating capacity of 120. The seats are comfortable in stepwise arrangement for better viewing.

Biology Laboratory

Life Sciences is the branch that kindles inquisitive, observational, creative, imaginative faculties of the child’s mind.To make children’s life at school, a happy experience away from the curricular burden learning of the subject through practicals enhances the above mentioned endeavors of life.Based on the CBSE norms our school has a well-equipped Biology Laboratory. The salient features of the Laboratory are:-

1. Lab is well ventilated, illuminated and has a new tiling.
2. Lab can comfortably accommodate 35-40 students with comfortable working area for each.
3. We have a well maintained and a separate Biology Museum room with nearly 50 preserved specimens, nearly 20 stuffed animal specimen, about 70 plant specimen, approx. 50 charts, 50 models, 100 slides, a skeleton, bones which are arranged in well illuminated glass cupboards.
4. For Microscopic studies – Compound, dissecting and Projection Microscopes are there.
5. Chemical Racks have all required chemicals & test materials.
6. For Physiological and behavioral study different devices like Auxanometer, Ganong’s photometer, photographic chamber, clienostal, chemographic recorder, Incubator etc. are provided.
7. We have a qualified staff which evoke analytical thinking, practical skill by illustrating the activities in enjoyable manner.

Time & time various activities are organized to evoke interest in subject like – poster making, model competitions, quiz competition. symposiums.To create environmental awareness we organize tree plantation and Van Mohatsav, children on this day make innovative models to depict environment and its features.

Bio-tech Laboratory

Biotechnology is a current boom that has various career options for the students. Biotechnology is technology based on Biology, it involves any technological application that uses biological system lining organisms or derivatives thereof to make or modify products or process for specific use. Biotechnology Lab is a full self-contained and self-sufficient lab containing 3 rooms housing various Lab facilities. Lab is maintained in accordance with good laboratory practices. Lab is designed to enhance the academic curriculum as well as provide students with unique learning experiences in technological environmental opportunities for independent research and experimentation.
A short list of facilities available is: BOD Incubator, Spectrophotometer, Centrifuges, Autoclaves, U.V. Illuminator, Agarose and SDS-PAGE Gel Assemblies, Laminar Air Hood, Electronic Balance, Vortex Shaker & All reagents of standard analytical qualified required for various experiments. All these facilities maintain a small but effective, molecular Biology & Microbiology Laboratory. The Computer system Lab supports advance bioinformatics practices, which addresses biological problems using computational techniques.

Physics Laboratory

The subject of Physics derives strength from its strong experimental base. The Pride of Pilani, B.B.V.P. envisages the objectives of inculcating scientific aptitude in the young minds through the experiments done by them in the school Laboratory. As per CBSE guidelines our school laboratory provides an opportunity for the students to understand the basic concepts of the subject in an easy and subtle manner. The students have an insight into the world of science, on their own under the able guidance of the faculty members. The students follow the step by step procedures and rationally get to understand the concepts of science. Utmost care is given to students who are performing the experiments and guidance is given only if the need arises. Posters and charts help the students to perform the experiments in a scientific way. Students feel happy after verifying the results. The school has a vast Physics Laboratory which is divided into two labs, one for Senior Secondary students and the other for middle section students. In the Senior Laboratory, the experiments which need electrical constructions are arranged together with the facilities to do the optical experiments.

Mathematics Laboratory

As per the requirement of CBSE we have established a Mathematics Laboratory by 31st March 2005. The Laboratory can comfortably accommodate 30-35 students at a time. Students of standard IV to X have weekly two periods in the time table to perform activities in the laboratory.
The Laboratory contains models/kits explaining Algebraic Identities, Properties of circles, Properties of Triangles, Various Solid shapes, Abacus, Sun Clock, Geo Board, Geometry Box and Many more Kits which enhance various skills. These activities encourage Numerical Skills, Observational skills, Thinking skills, Skills of comparison, Skills of interpretations, problem solving skills, decision making skills, skills of games and develop their imagination, creativity, logical thinking and gives a different type of approach for the subject. They also learn to relate the subject with day-to-day life and many other things in the environment.
The activities/skills conducted are not confined only to the laboratory but also used in classroom teaching as per the requirement of the topic.
We also conduct Model Competition for middle section and senior section separately. This type of competitions reveal the creativity, love and keen interest in the subject, remove the fear of the subject and also students learn to relate the subject with other subjects like physics, astronomy, ancient history, economics etc. “MATHEMATICS IS BEST LEARNT BY DOING AND THAT IS WHAT VIDYAPEETHIANS BELIEVE IN.”

Chemistry Laboratory

Chemistry occupies a control position in the study of modern science. The work being of man and society are intimately linked to and dependent on chemistry in one way or the other. A large body of chemical information is based on the result obtained from painstaking experiments. The Chemistry lab of School is a well equipped, fully ventilated large lab with the capacity of 32 seats. Every seat is provided by individual gas and water connection. Students handle a sophisticated digital analytical balance for weighing purpose. They are provided with every apparatus as per requirement and also to carry out their projects.

Computer Lab

Computers are where the future lies .The need of the hour is to give the ‘Go for Computers’ movement on impetus and groom the younger generation for the opportunities waiting to be grabbed. create awareness about computers by bringing in an element of challenge and competition as about inspiring the younger generation to enhance their knowledge and comprehension of issues related to computers and information technology. The school has a well-equipped computer lab with multimedia systems to provide I.T training to the students from class IV to XII. In senior classes students can opt Computer Science as a subject and can take up a career in computers in the future. A rich collection of interactive learning video CDs is accessible to the teachers for explaining the topic through demonstrations. We also have Internet facility, which helps not only the teachers but also the students to explore more in the subject.
The I.T department provides in service training to the teaching faculty to make them run with the current age.

Home Science/Needle Work Laboratory

Home Science is concerned with the attainment of the well being of individuals and families, the improvement of homes and preservation of values, significant in home life. The study of Home Science prepares one for satisfying personal life. Home Science helps students in

1. Study of fundamentals of health, nutrition, family relationship.
2. Develop skills to accomplish all the essential household activities such as cooking, child care, stitching, management of time, accounts, energy and block printing, tie and dye, adulteration test, rangoli, flower arrangement, stain removing etc.
3. Knowledge of art, color and designs help needle work students to learn stitching, embroidery, sewing, fabric painting, pottery painting, aplighe and other craft items.

Psychology Laboratory

Psychology is the science of human and animal behavior, having two aspects as has every other science- the theoretical and practical or applied. It focuses on the study of mental processes, experience and behavior of individuals and thus contributes towards individual and social well being. It attempts to study various aspects of individual’s behavior, which constitute his personality, motivation and emotion, learning and memory, attitudes and social cognition, social influences and group processes, life span development and facets of development.

Library

BBV Library is a hub of multifarious activities. This library is full of all teaching aids for all round development of students e.g. Books, Magazines, Newspapers, CD’s, Reference Tools etc. Our library provides information to train the students for every walk of life, either traditions or modern trends.BBV Library opens at 8A.M. and closes at the time of closing of the School. It also opens in evening for one hour 4 to 5P.M. We are following Open Access System in it. Every class gets one library period per week. Students are issued books for 14 days. They can take two books at a time. Circulation remains open full time. Reference books are generally not issued. The students are given magazines also. We have a provision of class libraries also our library maintains a collection of approx. 23000 books following a Dewey Decimal Classification (19th Edition) Scheme and Cutters Author Table. We maintain a Dictionary Catalogue for our all holdings.
